In spring 2020 the video work was produced in collaboration with the artist Ranran Zhu. The short movie deals with the longing for a distant and safe world beyond ours, the escape from the corruption of the mundane realm. The measures to contain the virus have brought the entire world population into a state of domesticity. Now that movement is restricted and traveling to distant places can only be done with the imagination, the power of narrative journeys is traced back to the baroque era. The narration is treating the crossing of the seas and the imagination of theese travels, painted by artists of the 18th century, letting the atmosphere work its magic today.
