The journey on board a container ship becomes the starting
point for artistic engagement. We enter the field
ourselves to discover new things in the sense of an expedition.
During and after the journey we will develop new
works that try to grasp the tracked down metaphorical
constellations esthetically and try to make modern seafaring
as a cultural phenomenon tangible. While Vessels
references gigantomaniac container ships and includes
their function as containers or receptacles, Widgets alludes
to much smaller things and gadgets – possibly the
goods being shipped. We want to keep an eye on the big
picture and focus on details.
